Our investment banker client had previous classic car financing through Fast Car Finance, however once he realised that his family holidays would be cancelled this year, he decided to have an adventure with his family around the south of France and needed a luxury camper van for the occasion.
The VW California was the perfect model for this family’s adventures and the 2020 model has had a facelift to deliver the optimum level of comfort for people using it as a base for their holiday. The iconic Volkswagen Golf GTi, has seen various iterations since its launch and the older models are now becoming rather collectable. Having identified a wonderful example that was due to go under the hammer at Silverstone Auctions, a longstanding client was keen to secure the car to add to his growing collection.
Knowing the customer well and having previously worked with him, the Fast Car Finance team arranged a flexible finance facility that allowed the customer to bid for the car and secure it on the day it went under the hammer. The customer purchased the car on the day and we then arranged to reimburse him a few days later (subject to a copy of the auction house invoice and proof of payment).

An existing customer approached us, wanting to add a classic 1979 Mark 1 Volkswagen GTI with a guide price of £25,000 to his collection of over 60 cars. He had identified a specific car at an auction as it had exceptionally low mileage. The issue was he would need to pay for the car at auction and take title, only then being able to arrange the finance due to the speed with which he needed to act.
Fast Car Finance was able to approve classic car financing terms on the car, allowing the customer to bid at auction, safe in the knowledge that Fast Car Finance would reimburse the outlay once he owned the car.


When a longstanding client of ours decided to replace his car, the deal with his wife was that she should have a new car to. Her husband knew us well having previously funded an Aston Martin and a Range Rover with us. A suitable finance facility was quickly arranged via telephone and email and all in a matter of minutes. Not only were we able to offer a competitive finance facility, it was also more attractive than the supplying dealers. The customer only had a minimal deposit available as there was negative equity in the car he was doing a part exchange on which he had to off-set. Even with this small deposit, we were able to arrange monthly repayments that were attractive for this gentleman. He was actually on holiday whilst we were arranging finance; the idea being that on his return he could collect the car. That is exactly what happened.


A new customer came to us via a friend who knew us well. There was no magic to be worked, but just a simple and fuss-free transaction for everyone involved.


A Dealership introduction for us. The customer had found a car with a staggering 128,000 miles on the clock! We knew that a typical Lender would not want to fund against such a high-mileage car. Our client was the wife of an Oxfordshire based Accountant. Their family car, after many loyal years of service was destined for the Scrap Yard. Neither husband or wife wanted to spend time visiting showrooms looking for a replacement car and asked Fast Car Finance if they could help. Not only did we find the right car for them but we also secured the finance at the same time. Having quickly established what the buying criteria were (a diesel, economical and family-sized car which needed to be a hatchback), we made a few telephone calls and found a VW Golf that fitted the bill at a nearby dealership to them. We negotiated the purchase price with the Dealer as well as achieving a discount on behalf of the customer, before we got down to arranging the finance. The car was delivered to the customers’ home address a week later. They didn’t even have to visit a showroom!

As a part-time worker, budget was key. The chosen car, an ex-demonstrator model with a handful of miles on the clock was financed over 4 years with a balloon payment at the end.


Sadly this customer had recently been a victim of identity theft, which is a modern-day scourge of the Internet. Dealing with the aftermath of such a fraud is hard enough in itself, but when one of the consequences is that your credit rating is affected drastically through no fault of your own, life can seem very unfair. The only offers that our customer was getting from 3rd party brokers were very unattractive indeed. It was only through a monumental effort, due diligence and our in-depth market knowledge that FCF secured a prime lending rate.


Referred by a Dealer well-known to us. This lady had a real nostalgia for the VW Beetle that was the family car when she was growing up. She wanted to re-live those days by purchasing the stylish 21st Century version of this iconic model. A very definite case of back to the future!


This client was in a massive hurry. He had found his car on the internet, but had to travel from Berkshire to Newcastle to pick it up! Knowing that this classic hot hatch wouldn’t hang around on the dealer’s forecourt for long, he had already booked his flight for the next day. So Fast Car Finance knew they had just short of 24 hours to secure the funding in order that he could take delivery of the car and drive it back. Talk about Need for Speed, but we were delighted that we were able to do it.
