Fast Car Finance’s Ultimate Guide to Christmas Movies (for car lovers)

We wanted to add a festive twist to the Fast Car Finance blog this month, so we thought we’d bring you the Fast Car Finance Ultimate Guide to Christmas Movies for all Car Lovers.
We’ve conducted a highly detailed survey on social media and these are the results.
Mad Max
We love the 1979 original of this film, featuring Mel Gibson. Max Rockatansky drove the V8 Interceptor, which is also known as a Pursuit Special. It is based on a 1973 Ford Falcon XB GT coupe.
Bullitt
Did you know that the Highland Green 1968 Mustang GT Fastback driven by actor Steve McQueen in the movie “Bullitt” will be going up for auction in Florida in early January 2020? You can find out more about the car’s current owners here, but the car is expected to go for in excess of $3-5 million!
If you wanted to go ahead and bid at the auction in Kissimmee, Florida, we can arrange a finance deal for you so that you can bid at auction. Our auction pre-approval facility allows customers to bid for a car safe in the knowledge they have a loan facility already in place should they be successful.
Back to the Future
An 80’s classic starring Michael J Fox, Back to the Future is a great watch over the festive period. Marty McFly and Doc Emmett Brown were time travellers and used a DeLorean to travel to the late 1800s, 1950s and to the future (2015 – gasp). DeLorean Motor Company (DMC) are looking to relaunch the iconic model which is likely to set you back a $100,000, but it’s taking quite a long time to get it quite right. If you’re interested in having the finance in place for when the car is ready to launch, you’re looking at about £68,000 at today’s exchange rates. That’s an awful lot of money for a car but with our range of flexible car finance options we can make this or any car more affordable. To find out more about the DeLorean, visit this page.
Disney’s Cars – featuring Lightning McQueen
This is a huge movie franchise, and if you have young children, this is likely to be a winner. What is Lightning McQueen? It turns out it’s a unique blend of Corvette with a 911 roof, GT40 cues at the back, and Lola swagger at the front. You can even watch The Grand Tour’s James May identify Lightning McQueen in this YouTube clip.
The Italian Job
Our favourite is obviously the 1969 original, starring Michael Caine. So many great cars and sadly, only 3 of the original cars remain! Here’s a round-up of some of the best cars from this iconic film.
Lamborghini Miura
This car would cost £115,000 today. It came in bright colours, a 4-litre V-12 engine and has 370 brake horse power. If a Lamborghini takes your fancy, have a look at some of the Lamborghini deals we’ve financed recently.
Aston Martin DB4 Convertible
This beautiful car was wrecked when Caine’s character Charlie Croker was taught a lesson. Ending up under a front-end loader, this was a waste of what was then a £60,000 car! Fast Car Finance recently facilitated an equity release deal on this 1960 Aston Martin DB4 – check out the finance illustration to see if it’s affordable for you this Christmas!
Jaguar XKE
There were two stunning Jaguars that ended off flying over a cliff – a red coupe and a blue convertible in this film. Their price at the time of filming was £5,000 – unfortunately you wouldn’t pick anything up like that for that money now!
If you’re a Jaguar fan, why not take a look at our recent Jaguar finance deals.
Other great films that were suggested for TV viewing include:
- Knight Rider
- Starsky & Hutch
- Fast & the Furious
- Chitty Chitty Bang Bang
- Drive
- Days of Thunder
- Transporter
- Speed Racer
- Death Race
- Baby Driver
- Drive
- Herbie
- Smokey & The Bandit
- Ferris Beuller’s Day off
- Gone in 60 seconds
We hope you’ve enjoyed our run-down of festive car films! Which ones are your favourites? Which films will you get to watch over the festive period?
