For this purchase, we arranged a 5-year finance agreement with a balloon payment, helping to keep the monthly repayments more affordable. It’s important to remember that a balloon payment is not a Guaranteed Future Value (GFV). The final payment remains the customer’s responsibility should they choose to retain ownership of the vehicle at the end of the agreement.

The finance agreement is regulated by the Consumer Credit Act, giving the client additional protections, including the ability to settle the agreement early without incurring early settlement penalties, should their circumstances change.

There’s nothing better than helping a returning client secure another vehicle, and this latest deal was no exception. Having funded several cars for this customer over the years, we were delighted to assist once again, this time with the purchase of a Range Rover SE PHEV.

The client was specifically looking for a Hire Purchase (HP) agreement with a final balloon payment to help keep the monthly repayments lower. Ideally, he also wanted the agreement arranged with no deposit.

While no-deposit finance can sometimes be possible, it’s important to understand the potential downsides. With no initial deposit, monthly payments are generally higher and there is a greater chance that when the balloon payment becomes due, the vehicle’s value could be lower than the remaining finance balance. This could result in the client being in negative equity.

As a rule, most lenders prefer a minimum deposit of around 10%, as this helps create a better finance structure from the outset. However, our client was fully aware of the risks and comfortable proceeding on this basis.

For some clients, a car is simply a way to get from A to B. For others, it’s a passion, and for this particular client, performance and precision engineering are a way of life.

We’ve had the pleasure of supporting this long standing client on several occasions in the past, funding a number of Porsche models. On this occasion, we revisited one of his favourites: the iconic Porsche 911 (991) GT3.

The 991 GT3 is no ordinary sports car. Powered by a 4.0-litre engine, it produces around 475–500 horsepower, delivering a 0–60 mph time of just over 3 seconds. Designed with track performance in mind, it features rear-wheel steering & advanced aerodynamics making it one of the most engaging driver’s cars ever built.

As the balloon payment on the car was due the client was clear, this wasn’t a car he was ready to part with. Instead, he wanted to retain ownership and refinance the outstanding balance over a further 24 months.

After obtaining an approval for the refinance, we met the client face-to-face to sign the paperwork, reflecting the strong relationship we’ve built over time. It also gave us the opportunity to talk through the finer details and ensure the structure worked perfectly for his needs. Given this was a refinance, we also undertook an asset inspection to ensure everything was in order.

Once the new agreement was in place, the client expressed his genuine appreciation for the support provided, something we never take for granted. It’s always rewarding to help clients continue enjoying the things they’re passionate about, and in this case, keeping hold of a truly exceptional car.

We were recently introduced to a new client by an independent car dealer who we have known for a number of years. The client had already begun the process with another broker and had submitted an application, however concerns began to arise around the length of time the process was taking and the volume of additional information being requested.
